Voluntary Departure and Returning back--Please help

Hi,

I have a question regarding voluntary departure and coming back. I am a student of Trivalley university.

My back ground:

I came to US in 2006 Aug for a state university, and since my h1 was not picked up i have opted to joing Trivalley. After this mess, I have contacted ICE people to say that I am leaving the country as specified in the USCIS website.Reason for leaving is health issues for my father in India and marriage proposal is going on with a person who is in US. After I contact ICE , one guy came to my house took written statement regarding my entire US visit and after 3 days received call from them stating I can leave US.

While on call they haven't stated any thing about reentry after marriage on H4 or someother visa. Please let me know if I can come back to US or not.

Your response will help me a lot to decide my future/career and appreciated.

It sounds like your case is a classic example of your intent using Tri Valley to maintain legal status in US since 2006.
Even with a VD a future visa interview in India, they will grill you for using TriValleys sham for a long time to your benefit more than likely resulting in a denial.
If your future plans involve US, try to change your status without leaving.

Did ICE give you anything in writing? If so, what does it say EXACTLY? They have indicated that if you just get out, they won't hold it against you. YOU in particular should take advantage of that easy treatment.

It seems to be similar to "legalization" or "amnesty" --back in the 1980's under legalization, illegal aliens were given a clean slate as to immigration violations (they were not forgiven criminal issues). It is more cost effective for the government to just drop the whole fraud issue as to the individual students and let them slink away and forget about the TVU student complicity in the scam and just go after the DSO and other school employees as the ringleaders.

Try to get something in writing from ICE.
