Visting India 3 to 4 months after passport stamping

Hi,
My GC has got approved this week. I am waiting for approval notice to go for PP stamping.

1) Can i do PP stamping on my passport which is expiring in Aug 2005(1yr from now). How long that stamping is valid.

2) Do i need to renew my passport before i go for PP stamping. & then i can get the stamping on New passport.

3) Once PP stamping is done, can i use it to travel to other countries , Want to stay in india for 3 to 4 months(as my project is coming to end). Return back to US after 3 months.

Yes. The stamp is valid for a year, about the same as your passport. Perfect.

Sure, but when you return to the US make sure you can demonstrate you have been maintaining residence here if they ask at the POE. If you travel on the stamp, you will get pulled into secondary.

--> What proof i should show for the proof of maintaing my residence.

-->Is it better to travel after i get my Plastic card.

-->Will plastic card be mailed only after i have done PP Stamping.
