My in-laws have been issued visitor's visa on 28th at Chennai.

Some points:
* I have sent the sponsor documents as per the immihelp website.
* Advised them to take special care about arrangement and presentation of the papers
* I have sent two sets of originals/copies for them.
* Trained them on the possible questions and the answers.
*They are both around 70 years of age.
*This is their first interview and they have never visited any foreign country.

The questions they faced:
1. Why do you want to go? (To spend time with my daughter's family and to visit places)
2. Why do you want 6 months for this? (We want to visit as many places as we can as we may not make another trip)
3. Who is staying there?
4. Since how long?
5. How many children do you have?
6. Are you staying alone or with anyone?
7. What does your daughter do in US?
8. What does your son-in-law do?

The Consular officer looked at the documents sent by me very closely and seemed to be satisfied with them. They were issued the Visa.

Raju, Congrats!.

My mom attended the interview on Feb 28th at chennai and they rejected her the B2 visa under 214(b). They said they are not sure whether she will go back after expiration of B2 Visa.

I had prepared all the documents very carefully as per immihelp.com and trained her for the interview. I took her to Madras for the interview.

She is widowed, housewife and staying with my elder brother & family. Probably it could be reason for rejection.

I realy don't know what to do next.

I vaguely remember noting that your mom is attending the interview on the same day as my in-laws. Sorry about the outcome in your case.

I cannot see much of a difference between the cases. The one factor I can
think of is, my f-in-l has a strong base in the way of properties and so on.

Only option would be to try one more time.

Good luck!

My mom owns a house and I had included the property documents. But she couldn't show any monthly income. She had told them that she stays with her elder son and gets financial support from all children including my sister abroad.

Do you know how long I need to wait to re-apply?.

Try again

My mother attended for Visitor Visa on Nov 9th 2004 at Chennai consulate and they rejected it without telling any reason. My mother attended again on Jan 24th 2005 again and this time they gave her visa for 10 years. I sent same documents second time. It is pure luck I can say. Take another appointment and try it again.

Wish you good luck.

travel agents

ask them to go thru travel agents in chennai. eg visaways.com. Iam trying for my in-laws for the third time

Try again - ours approved

Yes. Try again.

My MIL's visa was rejected on Jan 20, but then again it was approved on Mar 7, during her second interview! Sent the same set of papers. No changes and still it was approved!!

So give it a try.

Good luck!

Thankyou all.

Rasi, Did you write any letter to consulate when you applied second time?

Do anyone know the wait time for getting an appointment in Chennai Consulate?.

Thanks again,

Josh
