Visitors Stay Period Extension

Hi All - I want to know the disadvantages of extending visitors stay period. Any pointers would be of great help. I have heard that if visitor stay is extended beyond port of entry end date even by obtaining official extension, visa will be rejected for the person in future. Is this true? I want to extend my mothers stay and want to know the complications in doing so.

Visitor stay extension

Though I have not done so personally a close family friend got their parents stay extended to about a year. They however had a multiple entry 10 year visa. They had no problems on visits subsequent to the visit they got extended. Hope this info. helps.

Thanks Yeppo. My mother has 1 year Visa. I hope it will not be a problem if I extend it
