My friend's ??..Currently AOS is pending and he would like to bring his Mother-in-law for personal reasons. His H1B is going to expire in Jan 2003. I would like to know whether he should mention H1 or Alien number(EAD) in the Affidivat of support doc (not yet pemanent resident now). Any advise would be appreciated. For supporting docs he should provide H1 and EAD details both???...Pl..advise.

I gave AOS details

My H1 had expired last Nov and my MIL arrived in Mar 02. I had provided 485 receipt copy, pp copy and gave the A number in the affidavit of support.

Same Case. Gave a copy of EAD along with everything else. The officer in Bombay did not even look at any of the documents. My M-I-L got 10 years visa

The 1000 mark was a Nostalgic moment, looking behind at the members who were veterans when I joined this forum, alas they have all moved on now.

Looking forward bakshi, asdasd, jigesh, sam99, phoaupkari, ms001, priyaGC, TheRealCanadian, Girish Rajput, magesh_kk just to name a few, are doing such a wonderful job at sharing experience and knowledge, makes me feel good, atleast when old timers move on, there should be someone to take over, and the above mentioned folks are doing a real good job.

So the 1000 mark has mixed feelings.

Whereas getting the GC stamped, was PURE, UN ADULTERED, SELFISH SENSE OF RELIEF.

Pune USA consulate...

My father had to make 3 trips to the US counsel in Pune.

These are the requirements for a Visitor visa, they in fact gave a list which i don't have handy now but will post it tomorrow...

1> My Original B'date certificate was a requirement as my father is over 60 yrs of age.

2> 485-petition files with INS is also a MUST. EAD was NOT accepted.

Re:July16

July16 has been helping people on the message boards for such a long time that we all should be greatful to people like him and Rajiv Khanna and his staff.

Thanks everyone for your response.

Thanks July16. PatienceGC is next to 1000 club.

I have another question regarding Visitor Visa:
My parents got 10 year visa last year (they spent around 6 months here with me last year).
Can they come back again in 2003 or 2004 with the same visa ?
After my parents got visa in 2001
(1) I moved to new address
(2) I will be getting GC in few months (hopefully)

If they can come here with the same visa, do they have to fill out AR-11 (address change form) after coming here ?

my mother-in-law came last week.
be honest submit ead, or alien no starting with an A. H-1b, I-485 filed notice or whatever you have.
they dont check anything anyway if visitors are elder.
i had submitted almost everything
GC, employer letter, pay stub, dr's cetificate, pregnancy, affidavite of support, bank balance etc etc..............nothing was asked or checked at interview.

Nothing Needed..

UR Parents can Just come...
The only rule is that they should not overstay the I94...

So U dont need to do anything additional..
Just give the new address on the I94 Form??
