Hi,

I have been in the US for about 8 yrs now. I am on H1. My parents have 10 yrs visit visa and they are planning to visit me soon. I am planning to call my sister too along with my parents. She is just out of engineering college and she has some time to visit before she gets back and start her job search. She will be applying for the visa soon.

I have heard that it is generally harder to get visa for young people. Please let me know if you have any advice on how she should proceed with the application and the interview.

She also plans to visit schools for her graduate study in 2008. Will it make sense to mention that on the application?

Thanks for your time.
Abhi.

Your sister will find it a little tough to overcome 214(b) because of her age and also not having a job. That does not mean it is not worth a shot. Visiting the US to scope out potential graduate schools is a perfectly good reason to mention on one's visa application.
I wish her good luck.
