Hi,
My husband’s 6 years of h1b is expiring in Dec 2012, and he has recently filed for H1B extension till February 2013 (vacation days recapture). Also my husband’s perm application is currently being processed for audit response.
I am on f1 visa and my visa expires in September next year. I would like to bring my parents for a visit. I need advice on following questions:

1.Can my husband financially sponsor my parents for the trip? Will there be a problem in getting my parent's visa approved as my husband’s visa expiring soon and his decision for PERM audit is still pending?
2.If the above option is not possible, can I financially sponsor my parents if we have a joint account showing enough bank balance?

Thanks,
Smriti

Thanks you for replying.
I am aware that visitor visas are self sponsored but I think we can fill up the I-134 form for them just to show that their financial expenses would be taken care by us.

Therefore, my concern in this case is do you think the VO might ask my parents why do they want to visit us when my husband's visa is expiring in December and he has to return back to India by the end of December( as he would be financially sponsoring their trip)?

My husband recently filed for H1b extension (vacation days recapture)and I am not sure whether it would be prudent to present/mention the H1B receipt notice to the VO. Thoughts?

Also, if they apply all by themselves, how much account balance do you think is sufficient to get the visa approved for two people for 4 months?

I cannot determine how the consul will connect these two variables, if at all. This is why I advocate not to use an I-134. Your folks should indednetly apply and qualify for a visit visa.

I would say $100/day for the length of their visit to the US as a rule of thumb.
