Hi folks,
I was granted political asylum in 2006. I recently applied for GC.
My mother had US visitor visa in the 90-s, but she never went because she did not have time. And she had to renew her passport in 2000. After I came here (2004) she decided to come to see me. My mother applied for a visitor visa in the beginning of 2007. The visa was denied. The consulate interviewer said to her that I broke some rules here, but did not say what exactly. She is not aware that my status was changed here, she thinks that I am still on h1b. I want to invite her here again, but she will have to go for the visa again and will likely be refused unless you guys advise me what information/documents we need to provide so that the visitor visa would be granted.
1. Should I tell her my current status (Political Asulum) and should we put it on the visa application form?
2. Should we include with her application my income and savings info?
3. I heard that some people obtain letter from local congressmans. Will it be helpful in our case? Will I be able to get such a letter? Should it be sent to embassy or be included with the application?
4. Should I write a letter to embassy? If yes, what should I explain in it?
5. Should we specify in the application that I will be paying all the expences or she will.
Thanks a lot!
