Visitor Visa for 6 Months..

My folks got Visitor visa from Mumbai consulate only for 6 months. Is that normal? Shudnt it be atleast a year?
 
Nope there is no rule for atleast 1 year, it very much depends on the mood of the officer making the decision.

Sorry for ur bad lauck. I am keeping fingers crossed for my in-laws, my parents got 10 yr multiple. But they are both in govt jobs and have travelled quite a bit. Whereas my in-laws are retired/housewife etc.

Maybe if ur parents come back early this time next time they will get a better duration.
 
passport question

I'm planning to bring my parents. i don't have copies of all the pages of the passport, i've only pages that are not blank. since i've sent my passport for revalidation i won't be able to send copies of blank pages. Is it enough if i submit copies that have visas and otherinfo.

Visitor Visa 6 Month Rule

For Visitor Visa is 6 Month rule valid from the date visitor visa was issued
or from the date of entry in USA (Stamp on I-94).

The visitor visa valid for 6 months means you can travel to US anytime withinn the sixmonths of the issue of the VISA.
Even on the last day of the excpiry of the visa.
visa for 3 weeks or 6 months will be granted at the port of the entry.
And yes it is perfectly normal for the visa to be issued for 6 months .
it is either 6 months or 10 year multiple
