VISITOR VISA DURATION soon to be made 1 month

This would be a travesty of justice

It would be really unfortunate. You cannot have your mom helping you out when you have your next baby. I bet our parents would not travel for 4 days to be here for 4 weeks...
 
A few visitors have been stamped for 1 month.

My father scheduled to visit us in May has cancelled his tickets from India. Travel agents in Madras (Chennai) confirmed that visitors arriving since April 1, being stamped for 1 month duration.

The travel agencies reported a lot of angry visitors from US demanding fare reduction. There is a lot of confusion going on now. Any factual information is appreciated.

Effective Date??

Does anyone know if there is an effective date for this proposal - 30 day cap on visitors? Usually there is a 30 day period for a new INS proposal to be implemented.
