Visiting US while I-130 application is still pending (Consular Processing)

I applied of Green Card for my parents and they got the receipt. I am planning to file for consular processing at Chennai, so I just filed I-130 and got the receipts. Also As of today how long does such an application typically takes until they can come to US. Currently they have 10 years of multiple entry tourist visa. Does their visiting privileges get revoked while the application is in progress? Is it possible for them to visit US for few months while the application is in progress? I appreciate any replies.

Since they have valid visit visas, they can attempt to visit. It all depends on the admitting officer at the POE. He has the power to deny them entry if he/she is not convinced that your parents' visit will be a temporary one.
