Visiting Korea with H1B

Dear Mr. or Ms.:

Last year, I changed my visa status from F-1 to H1B after getting a job.

I want to visit Korea right now. Is there any problem when I try to back to USA after meeting my relatives?

My friends told me that my new visa might be rejected since my origianl visa expired and I didn't back to korea to get a new visa 5 years ago.

I am not knowledgeable about US consulates in Korea (I hope it is South Korea!) but I think if you have had no unauthorized employment, status violations and are working for a legitimate business (not a body shop) and can get the required documentation from your employer to support H1 visa application you should be OK and your nw H1 visa should be granted.

However there is the security clearance issue involved with visa appllcations and it is impossible to predict how that will play out in your case. You may need to contact others who have applied for visas in Korea to learn more on this.
