Hi

My wife is travelling to India in November. Her passport is stamped with I-551. I am hopeful to get the plastic card by then.

1. Is green card/I-551 stamped is sufficient to enter US?
2. What all documents she needs to carry with her?
3. do she has to carry my employement letter?
4. will she need transit visa? She is travelling via Amesterdum, The Netherlands

Thanks for the help.

regards

1 - Yes.
2 - Copy of I-485 approval notice at the minimum.
3 - Wouldn't hurt.
4 - Most likely not. But check it out at:

Thanks

Thanks sg_orl for the reply.

I only have the photocopy of the approval notice as the original one was taken by INS when I went for PP stamp. Is it possible for you to pl. explain why you wrote MINIMUM. What other document do you feel to be carried?

Thanks once again.

I would carry the whole green card file. Copies of the approval notices should be fine. In addition, how about drivers license, social security card, employment photo ID.
