Visiting Girlfriend in USA

Hi I am an australian and I plan on visiting my girlfriend in usa from march 24th to august 3rd whom I met in a course in Aus. During in which we will be going on a roadtrip to meet other friends from the course i have just completed as well as all your normal tourist activities. From mid june to mid july I will be going to Kenya with her and her local church to do missions work for a month, in which i will return for a few weeks to the states then head back home.

Finance: $10000+ Sold my car recently and am getting paid by the family business, haven't been working for long because I have just recently returned from my course. Along with paid leave from my employment.

Family Ties: I have a contract written up to start fulltime work in the family business when I return, I live at home with my family and are very close to them.

I am getting a letter/invitation from the pastor at the church I will be attending the missions trip to Kenya with a group from the USA.

Can you give me any suggestions of ways I can continue to prove I will be returning home and that I am close to my family? also any other advice at all and what chance you think I have.
 
You already have a B-2 visa? Since you are an Australian citizen, I would advise you to shorten your visit and use VWP.

I had already booked flights a few months back, I never knew it was so hard to get a visa. I went in to get a tourist visa instead of risking it with vwp cause I was unsure of dates. Went into the interview, didnt understand the documentation properly (just took required in) and end up going in there with no documentation, the lady denied me very quickly, and now I realise I cannot even get a vwp anymore because of being denied. :( Any other suggestions?
I am very new to this hence all the stupid mistakes.

Who told you this?
Have you filled out an ESTA and it denied you?

Denial of a B tourist visa does NOT automatically exclude you from using VWP. Granted, you need to declare this when you fill out ESTA and on the back of the VWP form you fill out on the plane. This may of course lead to a secondary inspection and could prove troublesome/lead to a potential denial of entry- but no way does it mean that you can no longer use it. Ive read many poster's experiences about traveling on VWP after a tourist visa denial and being fine...while of course there was a few denial of entrys.

If you have already tried ESTA and it denied you, then ignore what I have just said, but if you haven't, fill it out and see what it says.
