Went today to INS Local office in Arlington. I was there at 5:30 and I am glad I went early because the queue was very long by 7:30 (more than 150 people that INS lets in each day).
Along with my I-485 office, even my EAD application that was sent to VSC has been xfered to Arlington, VA. My current EAD has expired. :-( and Its been 75 days from the PD of the 2nd EAD application.
Anyway, INS Information Officer told me that they are going to contact me by mail to pick the EADs up when they are ready (you know what that means). I did mention that my EAD has expired and my employer is unconfortable under the situation. I was told not to worry as I can still work as my EAD has already been applied and to show them the reciept of the same (like my employer is going to listen to that).
Got very conflicting answers for my I-485 case too. I was told that my interview will be scheduled " within 20 months of the transfer to local office". I don\'t think the officer understood what she was saying. My visit was utterly fruitless.
What else to expect from INS? Anyone ever seen this situation before?
