Need little info. from somebody whom visited Canada by car.

1. Did the POE officer stamp the AP on the return trip. If so was that to a date ahead of one year?
2. When you applied for Canadian visitor visa what was the answer filled for 'Immigration status in country where applying'. And 'Valid until date'.

I have had a visitor visa to Canada before. That has expired. My AP validity date is until 08/2004 only. As it is little closer it may be a cancern for the visa officer.

Please post your experience/advise.

Thanks,

Sam.

------ at border post they will take you to a room and then check the USCIS computer system and will stamp the AP and passport

----- then how you are going to enter Canada if you dont have Canada Visitor Visa? are you Canada PR??

------ they will admit you even if you have 1 day left on your AP

Thanks for the reply Ginnu,
Sorry I think I did not make the actual situation very clear on the original post.

I had a Canadian visa when I was on H1B. That has been expired.
I am planning to apply for a new Canadian visitor visa.

I was trying to get an answer to the following part with reference to the visitor visa application at the Canadian consulate. (Before going to canada)

When you applied for Canadian visitor visa what was the answer filled for 'Immigration status in country where applying'. And 'Valid until date'.

My AP validity date is until 08/2004 only. As it is little closer can it be a concern for the visa officer(Canadian).

Appreciate your help.

----- dear ,I have not filed visitor Visa for you, you filed for Canada Visitor Visa and you should remember what was your Immigration status in US at that time if it was H1 visa status write it and you know the validity of your status.
*** If the application is asking your present status in US then it is adjustment of status pending. if any confusion atttach a SHEET A and explain on it write the item# then explain. on Cover letter write that you have attached SHEET A , dont forget to sign cover letter and Sheet A with name and signature with date and address.
My AP validity date is until 08/2004 only. As it is little closer can it be a concern for the visa officer(Canadian).

Ginnu,
I think I confused you again.

At the time of my first visitor visa to canada I was on H1B. So I had a date to put on the application as the expiry date. But now I am on pending AOS. So I was wondering how to fill the date.

But after reading all the info on the Canadian Consulate website it looks like that they understand the situation of AOS. All previous I-94, I-20, APs required.

Thanks for the help.

--------you can explain on cover letter or can attach a SHEET A write the item# and explain that your I- 485 or adjusment of status to GREEN CARD/PERMANENT RESIDENCE is is pending with USCIS and they have huge backlog at this time so you dont know if it takes 1 year or 2 years to get approval of your GREEN CARD and till your I485 is not approved your status is ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS PENDING also attach the copy of EAD, I-485
