Dear Members,

I apologize for putting my query here. I coundn't find a place on this forum where I could post this query.

I am going to India next week (Newark, NJ - London- Dubai-India). I came to know of the Airside Transit Visa that Indian Citizens need to take to transit via the UK. I read on the British Consulate website that the transit visa is not required if we hold a Valid US visa.

I have a H1b Visa, stamped, however, I came to know that all H1b folks need to obtain the transit visa inspite of holding a Valid Visa. Can anyone please advise? Any experineces so far?

Regards,
Raj

Thanks Jaxen. From this, it is pretty clear that I would not require DATV as I have a valid US H1b Visa. It's so confusing as some folks have a differnet version of this.

If there is a member who travelled thr the UK under similar circumnstances, will apprecite if they can post their experience.

One of my friends wife came thru UK. She just had the H4 visa and no UK transit visa. She came back only two weeks ago. So it is true that you do not need a transit visa if you hold a current USA visa. Hope that helps.

I am travelling to India via UK. I am currently on Advance Parole, do I need transit visa ??????

I traveled last year via UK on AP and nobody asked for Transit visa..

Please suggest.

Either call the british embassy or british airways to find about AP. Please post what you have found. Thanks

I think if you are on AP, without a VALID US VISA, then you need to take the Transit Visa. It does not say specifically on the Website but from the Exemption category, we can conclude.

It's so confusing sometimes. I called the UK Embassy but it is very difficult to get to talk to a live person. You can only reply on the AUTO msg.

Anyone with updates on the Transit Visas, please post!

Thanks.
