Visa Waiver Program and DV Lottery Entry Risk

My comment was not rude. But if you have some actual substantiation of what you claim - post that link here. We could then review it and decide it ist is at credible. Until then, I'll maintain your point was silly (if you think through what you are saying) - and frankly, not helpful, because it creates or perpetuates the kind of unfounded fears you yourself were suffering from.

I found the link to his profile but this forum isn't letting me copy the link because it says it could be spam. The officer said he can see if you've entered the lottery before but he didn't say if that would be a problem. I only said that the officers can see it but I didn't say that it could be a problem for them because I don't know. I didn't know that my name appears on their screen but when I found out I thought that it could be an issue once travelling. In theory they have the right to ask me anything they want so I could expect a question about my entry. Visitors who travel under the VWP have no say.

You should always assume that anyone connected to US immigration can see anything you’ve done that relates to it - lottery entry, visa applications, anything. In addition, they cooperate with other border forces (Canada in particular) so can see other factors too. No visitor really has any “say”, no one is entitled to entry other than a US citizen, same as any other country.

Separately, immigration to the US can be quite a stressful exercise, as can general life be for someone used to a more, shall see say, protective kind of state. Labor laws and healthcare are the two obvious examples. It doesn’t suit everyone.
