I have my issue that my B1/b2 visa will expire in july but my parents live in US since the last six years and my mother had filed for the job based(h-1) immigration, currently the dates for it are July 2005 and the ours priority date is Jan 06, so its like 6 months in between. My parents have already filled for i-485 but now they want me in US to be with them so I plan to go there in June , with only 15 days before my visa expires. Will I get a 6 month entry or the entry till the visa is valid? Secondly how much time it takes more after the dates have arrived till I can change my status(file 485) on that basis or should I renew my visa before I leave(the only reason I am resistant to do it because security clearance from Pakistan can some times take ages). Your help will highly be appreciated.

You will be granted authorized stay date determined on the day of entry by CBP officer regardless of the expiration of the Visa.
Applying for a new visa is very risky as you never know if you will get one or get denied this time.

Depends on how genuine the justification is for requesting the extension. Anything that can be addressed with a better timed initial entry, is not a justification to request an extension.
Alrite , what do you recommend me for my case when I need to bridge my gap before I can change my status by 1-485
1) Should I go on B-1 and then convert to F-1
2) Should I go on B-1 and extend my stay
3) Should I re-apply for the visa and then go and if neccesary would come back for some time and go again ?
Would be great if you can give some reasons for choosing/ not choosing each option .

The I-140 priority date is Jan 06. When was it approved? Yuo need that information to determine if you are actually covered by CSPA.
