Need help on options for stamping my H1 visa. Here is my situation -
1) Used to work for Company A till June 2004. Had I797 through that company valid till October 2004.
2) Changed employer in June to Company B. Applied for H1 transfer. 2 RFEs later this visa is still pending approval. In the meantime my I94 expired.
3) Tried changing employer from Company B to C but that case went into RFE stating that since I94 had expired I couldn't file for transfer unless visa petition for transfer to Company B got approved.
4) In response to the above RFE, Company C tried consular processing for the petition. Lo and Behold! it got approved!!
Since consular processing was used here I would have to get my H1 relavidated from an US consulate. My question is do I have to necessarily get this stamped from the consulate in my home country or can I try Canada or Mexico? Please note that I have a 4 year bachelors degree in Engineering from a foreign country equivalent to a BS degree in the US. I have not attended school in the US.
Would appreciate any help here.
Thanks.
