Gurus on the forum...need your advice:

My H1B Visa stamp expires on August 15th 2005, though my I-94 is valid until April 8th 2006.

Q: Do I need a visa stamp to go out of USA and come back?
Q: Can I get the stamp within US? how long does it take?
Q: I was exploring possibilities of going to Montreal to get it stamped, any thoughts? The current website shows no dates are available.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

You need visa to enter US, no problems going out of USA. In case you have a visa stamp till Aug 15th 2005, but will be coming back to US before then, it should be alright as long as you have the H1B extension (new I979, I believe that is how you have I94 till April 2006). (Please check with your immigration specialist for more accurate information)

You can no longer get a stamp in US ( you are a year too late almost to date, they stopped processing visas in US last July).

No idea on 3rd question.

Thank you SC3.

The way I understand is I cannot come back after august 15th 2005, if I don't have a new stamp.

Anybody else has any idea on Montreal stamping?

Did anybody get an appointment for Montreal consulate? I was trying today and the system was showing "-" for all times and for all days. anyone has any idea how to get an appointment date for Montreal?

According to a news brief from another online forum, Montreal consulate is no longer processing visas for third country nationals for the rest of the summer.
