Visa stamping for 7th year extension.

Hello All
I recently got my 7th year H1 approval and my current Visa is already expired. I heard it is getting difficult to get the Visa for 7th year now-a-days.
Can i go to Mexico or Canada. Which one is better out of three(INDIA/MEXICO/CANADA). Also since my current visa is already expired, can i still go to Canada or Mexico(only oncern is wut if the Visa is rejected as i cant come back to US).Please help me out.
Also my wife recently changed the status from H4B to H1B..so does she have to always go to INDIA to get the H1B VISA or can she too get the Visa stamp from CANADA/MEXICO. I am planning for INDIA trip soon and any suggestions on this matter is highly appreciated. I will be waiting for the response.

I got my 7th yr stamping done in ottawa on Tuesday 09/06

Highlights
* If you have US education and from a reputed company and stayed with them for quite some time, its easy to get stamping.
* There is no 10 day limit for getting visa appointment. Its on the web(nvars.com) but not required.
* Ottawa US Consulate is giving the passport only on next day.
* Make sure you submit a copy of your spouse's H4b along with documents as they may give her only 1 yr from the date of visa application. This happened with my wife and I ended up getting a correct I94 card for her at Thousand Islands POE.

i am also in the same situation.My visa got expired few months back.I am going to apply for 7 th year extension in oct 2005 in premium processing. hopefully i will get it in 1 month time. So planning to goto CANADA for stamping in Dec 2 nd week . Please let me know your expericence so that i can plan. I am not sure if CANADA consulate issues Visitor visa even if US stamping is expired in Indian Passport or not
 
Successful 8th year stamping in chennai

I recently got my 8th year extension stamped in chennai. Here are the details of my interview. Visa officer asked me how long I have been working for the current company. I said 4 years. She asked me to show all the H1s with the current company. She was just making sure I was in status all the time. Then she asked me to show the W2s for the past 2 or 3 years. I gave for all the 7 years. Then she asked my wife on what she does and my wife replied that she stays home. Then she asked about our kid and where he is born. He is born here in US. Thats it she asked me to go to the next counter and pay the fees. If you are working at a client place be prepared to answer clearly about your project, superviser, client and everything. That what I saw with the other people. I work in permanent job, so they didn't ask me anything.
