visa stamped but fedex didn't pick up pp

Passport recieved

Just updating this thread with my info, so that might be useful to someone.
My passport was picked up by fedex on the 15th sept from the visa office in Dc AND i recieved it yesterday. The issue date on the h1b is 14th sep, so all this while for one month while i was calling i was been given incorrect info that my visa was issued and stamped on the 17th august. After repeatedly calling i got hold of the supervisor and left her a message and also sent them many fax . Ultimately after a conference call with the fedex and them the visa officer said that she will ask the supervisor to call me back.
I got a call from the supervisor on Monday sept 13th and she told me the same thing and said they dont have it, and i would have to get a duplicate passport, but gave me the concession date to reaply for revalidation by oct 15ht and send it directly to her.
After all this yesterday while incidently checking fedex tracking i found that passport has been picked up and i got it yesterday.

I suspect after my talk with the supervisor, they must have really looked into it and found it there.

so guys have patience, and if you know that your passport is stamped, wait for some time, but when you dont recieve it keep calling and get hold of some higher authority, you have to speak sternly with them.

Kudos to your patience, persevarance and determination for going through this. Ask for an apology!!!!

Sounds like a harrowing experience. I have a similar problem. I am a bit confused because I had to send my Passport to St.Louis MO for stamping. July 16th was the final date they were accepting passports for renewal and I mailed my application along with passport and self addressed envelop VIA Fedex to the St.Louis office.

My friends who applied at the same time have got their passports stampped and returned already. I see no sign of mine arriving. FedEx has not picked it up yet. How can I track if my passport has been stampped? How is it that you all are callin an office in Washington (D.C I presume.)

I guess after St Louis it goes to washington DC, I had sent to DC because i had recieved a 221G for one missing document, and had to resend it.
You can call the dc office and find out if they have your passport entered in the system, and you can get the status, thats the only way to find out.
the number at the dc office is visa office # 202-663-1225 option 1 and 0.

I called the number and had a good long wait. It seems they recieved around 20,000 applications just before the July 16th deadline. The staff that is processing the applications is now reduced to 7. The lady I spoke to said that they do not do status checks any more and that it is taking 12-14 weeks to process an application.

Thanks for the info. I am in a similar situation...I know someone who mailed his passport along with me ( we mailed it the same day, same time) received his passport with revalidated visa 2 weeks back. I keep tracking my Fedex package and still not picked up. So, are they still processing visa revalidations, as their website says Sep. 30th is the deadline for any corrections.

Got Them!

We got our passports today. They were stampped in DC. The were stampped yesterday and were to be delivered only tomorrow but since we are less than 15 miles from DC it got delivered today itself.
My problem was that we had moved to a new place and we didnot have the tracking number for the fedex. Today I called Fedex and gave my old address and they were able to track it down even without a tracking number. Went to Fdex and picked up the package. You wont believe the relief.

The visa was issued on 6th Oct. Delivered on 7th. Both our names are spelt wrong but I dont care to correct them.

I sent our PPs around the last date (16th July) to St Louis and we are still waiting for them back.

Could you tell when did you send your passports? It has been already about 10 weeks. You would know the anxiousness that I am facing.

Same date as you SKM. Our FedEx was delivered on July 16th. When I called tehy said its taking 12-14 weeks. We got ours in the 11th week.
