Visa Stamp Expiry and Re-Entry

My current visa stamp on my PP expires on May 5, 2005. I do have my new 797 which is valid till Nov 2006. I am planning for a trip to India on April and I will reentering the US on April 26, 2005.

My question here is...
1) Can I use my current visa stamp, valid till May 5, 2005, to reenter the US on April 26, 2005?

2) Are there any rules that says that, to reenter the US the current visa stamp in the PP shouldn't be expiring in the next X number of days or something like that?

You may not have any problem in entering back to USA as Visa is still Valid and you have extended I-797 ( u must carry this) . This is as per my knowledge may not be accurate.

---YES, and at POE show your passport Valid Visa AND H1 approval notice so that POE officer give you I-94 till your H1 approval notice(Nov 2006), check the date of I-94 expiry if problem point out to officer or ask for supervisor

---- you can enter any time before the visa expire
