does that also apply to h1 transfer-
question
if i want to move companies and transfer h1- do i need to go back to india
(i dont need visa stamp- just want to change employers)
Thanks
You don't have to go back to India as long as you have a valid I-94. You will need a new visa only if you go out of country and don't have an unexpired visa to enter.
When you transfer your visa, you will get your I 94 along with the approval notice.
It will allow you to stay in USA aslong as the extension is valid.
Only requirement to go for stamping is TRAVEL abroad.
You can't travel back into USA unless you have a visa stamp in your pass port.
So you need to go for stamping if you go to India for a visit or to any other country for any reason. ( Leaving US for any reason, you must have visa stamp on your pass port while you are coming back into USA unless you have a parole visa )
