Here is my story, my current H1-B visa is due to expire Sep 29th 2003. I have applied for an H1-B extension (premium processing), So plan to get my H1-B revalidation. My question is, since my H1-B visa stamp on my passport will be expired by the time I travel to mexico/canada, will I get an visitors visa to travel to Mexico or Canada for visa revalidation.

You should be able to get a visitors visa to Canada at least. Here's why:
My wife was in a similar situation when she applied for her canadian visa. Her H4 stamp had expired however she had a valid I94 and this is why she got her Canadian Visa. So once you get your H1 extension, it should come with a new I94 at the bottom. You should attach this I94 to your passport when applying for your Canadian Visa.

I live in Northern California, so I plan to travel to Mexico for Visa revalidation. Has anyone travelled to Mexico for the visa revalidation via san diego? I heard that you could drive to mexico from san diego.
