Visa overstay, now married to US citizen

Hi

Having read through pages and pages of threads, I can't find what I am looking for.

I have recently married a US citizen, I am a L2 visa overstay of approximately 2 years. What do I need to file to enable me to obtain a green card so that I can work here legally?

Will I face any type of fine for my overstay?

How long could this process take?

Thanks in advance

If you entered US legally, meaning you got in through the inspection, you should be OK. You might want to contact lawyer tough.

Here check this link, this guy posted a complete checklist what you need to get GC through marriage eventhough you've overstayed

There is no fine if you legally married to USC.
The process could take from 6-8 months up to 2 years depending where you live.

To get work authorization it will take appx 30 - 90 days.

You don't need to apply for I131(travel docs) because you cannot get out of US anyway until your GC is approved
