Visa number unavailable...Does this mean name check is over...

I did a status check a while back ..Got the response that "Visa no. is not available" Does this mean I have crossed all the barriers including name check?

I guess one cannot say for sure!
on the other hand.....had you had problem with name check...enquiry could have reported that.....but just trust what is clearly seen !!!!!

I will agree with MrGC 2004.
I also got same response what you have got but I am assuming that my file is ready to be adjusted as soon as my PD becomes current.
Waiting for next visa bulletin
 
Akhil,

Why dont you send an email enquiry to FBI whether your name check has been completed yet?
 
I sent an email to FBI 3-4 months back and no reply...I asked couple of people here they got the green card but no reply yet from the FBI..

I believe they are no longer replying emails!!!!

Akhil..
Call vsc and ask them for name check is cleared on your case or not.They will ask your alien no. and they will be able to tell you. I got the + ve resposnse .
Think you have to wait for visa ..

howlong does it take to get response for the query? i raised the query in october last week. i didn't hear anything afterwards. i didn't even see LUD changes.

What is LUD?

Hi there what is LUD?

At VSC

At VSC current processing date for I-485 is 4 DEC 2004

At Boston current processing date for I-485 is 27 May 2005

My labor wa filed on 29 SEP 2003
I -140 & I-485 filed on 15 OCT 2004
I-140 approced on 15 NOV 2004
FP on 11 APRIL 2005

No update on my case. Do u think my case stuck in FIB name check?
How to enquire that?


If visa nos not available then how those dates changed in DEC 2005

pls post your feedback.
 
Don't take anything for granted!

In our case, i too got status enquiry response as ' Waiting for Visa Number', but when talked to VSC, they said name/security check is pending.

The problem with VSC is that everyone does their job so quietly that, they don't even bother to verify with others i believe.
 
It's true in my case. I got the same letter back in October. After my PD became current in December, my case was approved on 12/15.

FBI is no longer replying to emails regarding name check

But in any case, here is their email address (not even sure if its still valid !!)
fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

Just mention your name, DOB, A# and say that you want to know the status of your namecheck.

Even when FBI was responding, it was taking them 5 or 6 MONTHS - and as I said before, they are no longer responding at all :(
