Visa for old parents--Pls Respond
Hi:
I want to have my aged parents over in September of 2009 for about 2 months. My dad's 80 and my mom's 75. Their visitors visa expire in June 2009. So they will have to reapply again and interview at the consulate. I have heard that older persons have difficulty in obtaining visas because they are suspected of becoming liabilities to the US government mainly due to health issues and medical expenses.
What do I need to do to prove that I will be responsible for any of their medical expenses? Do I need to purchase insurance for them before they go for the interview so that they can present it during the time of the interview? I have a GC and am financially capable of sponsoring them.
Thanks for your help.
