Visa expired for very long and a special case

My Visa has been expired for more than 4 yrs and It is almost 5 yrs now since I have visited India.
Only 6 months left in my H1 6yrs
I also have one more Issue, Q 11 in DS-157, I lost my passport with USA visa before I came to the USA.
I want to revalidate my Visa in Mexico or Canada.

Is it safe to go for Visa revalidation?
Any problems I would face?
Any experience and suggestions with similar scenarios would help me a great

-----if you lost your passport with USA visa before you came to the USA then how did you enter US? did you got new passport and again got the USA visa on new passpor and then entred US?? . If that is true I dont see any issue


I want to revalidate my Visa in Mexico or Canada.
---- If you apply Visa stamp in Canada or Mexico and it gets rejected then you cant enter US from Canada or Mexico, you have to directly go to your home country then get Visa stamp from home country US consulate. search the thread, may have got H1 Visa stamp from Canada( if one has US degree good Chances of Visa stamp) read the below link for recent exp of Visa staming in Canada:
