Visa Bultin for August 2013

I've been well, stressed for a few days and now so relaxed. I see you are excited again, how is everything else?

I had my interview in London. I plan to come to TZ next month for 2 months then go to US in September. I hope I don't lose my passport while I am there. My interview experience below:

I arrived at the Embassy at 07:40, I stood on the q for about 15 minutes, they checked my interview letter and passport and I went through the security. I went through to the initial desk and was given my number. There were a lot of non immigrant visa applicants and they were calling about 40 non-immigrant applicants for 1 immigrant applicant.

After about 40 minutes I was called to window 14, got fingerprinted and handed in the documents. The CO asked me when I intend to go to the US, I told him around August, he told me my visa will expire on 10th Nov. I changed the address where my GC should be sent to TX and made a payment. After making the payment, I went back and handed him the receipt and he handed me the X-ray and told me to take it with me to the US. He handed me the courier address forms to fill in the address I wanted my passport delivered and I was asked to go and wait.I waited for another 40 minutes and was asked to go to window 16.

CO: Good morning
Me: Good morning
CO: I need to verify your fingerprints.

I put my fingerprints for verification.

CO: Thanks
Me: No problem
CO: I need you to sign this form...
Me: (signed)
CO:How did you apply for the lottery, online or through an agent
Me: Online
CO: How many times did you apply
Me: Twice
CO: Second time was a charm
Me: Yeah
CO: Looking through my file for my I-134: what is your relationship to ....
Me: She is my aunt
CO: I see that you graduated from .... University with a degree in accounting
Me: Accounting and Law
CO: We have approved your visa, go and pay at the courier and in 10 days you will receive your passport and all teh documents
Me: Will I need to make a payment and how do I do that
CO: You will receive all details with your package
Me: OK thank you very much
CO: Was that too bad for you? Scary?
Me: Yes, I was a little nervous
CO: Congratulations and have a nice day
Me: Same to you

Congratulations!

May I ask, do you know why your visa has 5- month rather than 6-month validity? Was it because of expiring medicals or another reason?

This is what all we waiting for, yes us, the people who are remaining in this DV-2013. The Visa bultin for August 2013 will be just decisive for most of us.

good news!!!

I did my medical on May 10th, so I think it depends on when the medical expires.

Hello my dear. I totally forgot about one thing (in the midst of all the anxiety!) and that was the police certificate from the UK and I presume you obtained yours from the same place (ACPO Criminal Records Office in the UK) and have the following questions:

1) How long did it take for them to send you a police certificate? I read on the instructions that they do not deliver to P.O. Box addresses so the best bet for me is to have them send it by secure international courier to my brother in America who will courier it to me.

2) What is the validity of the police certificate? I want to get this particular document out of the way ASAP because of the time factor between the 2nd NL and interview date.

3) They ask for two proofs of current address and as you and I know all correspondence comes to work addresses/P.O. Box numbers and not residence addresses in Tanzania. I have a bank statement from the UK which has my Tanzanian address and my credit card address for my local bank in Tanzania. Will these two suffice for them or should I call them up and ask them about this?

Please provide me with any other information you deem necessary.

Thank you so much for your assistance! :)

Momo, we will be very busy next week preparing our papers lol

Princedriss my brother I have been preparing since June 2012 lol

So far I've got everything ready except police certificates, my medical report, bank statements and affidavit letter from my parents (my bosses/directors lol) about my work experience.

The UK police certificate is going to be a pain in the neck to get and I have to call ACRO in the UK on Monday to ask a few questions. They want proof of address on something tangible like a utility bill or something but in Tanzania all official documents go to PO Box numbers or office addresses and never to residence addresses so I need to check with them on this. On top of this they don't send the certificate to PO Box numbers so I need to have it sent to my supplier in the UK who will forward it to me by courier. Grrrrr!!!

I'm hoping to have both my UK police certificate and Tanzania one come in at the same time so that'll be done and out of the way.

I'm still wondering if I really need or if its really necessary to have an I-134 from my aunt/uncle in America :-|

Once all that's done I'll prepare a nice little file of documents with the originals and one copy of each original document to take to the interview with me and of course the sealed medical report and two photographs.

Am I missing anything? lol

How far along are you? Got some of your stuff ready yet?

u gotta repeat ur medicl report and police certificate because i guess they already expired

I haven't got my police certificates or medical yet. I was waiting for the 2nd NL to come through then do them but I'm getting the ball rolling on the police report. The medical I'll schedule the moment I get my 2nd NL.

The doctor is going to jab my butt with needles and I HATE needles lol...I hope he chooses my arm instead so I can save some of my dignity lol
