OH MY GOD. Please tell me this August's bulletin is a typo. For China the Brother/Sister (4th) retrogressed a year and two months! And the 1st preference retrogressed 3 years! Any insight on this awful event?

But for Mexico FB3 retrogressed to 1984 ? What is going on.

From what I heard and read, the retrogression is due to the system following the annual quota of people allowed to immigrate to the US. The dates retrogressing so severely is odd and I don't have a definate answer for that. My PD is 4/25/97 for F4 under China-Mainland. I am afraid of becoming 21 and not being able to immigrate with my parents. Does anyone know about the Child Status Protection Act? I am currently 17, turing 18 this November. I'm just afraid all this wait will be just a waste for me.

How long did it take for your I-130 petition to get approved? You take this period of time (time it was pending) and you subtract it from your age at the time your parents' PD becomes current. If your modified age is still under 21, then you would still be entitled to derivative benefits through your parents.

Oh. Well it only took about 4 monts for the approval of the I-130. Not much, hopefully the four months is enough if I age-out when the PD becomes current.

I am also looking into why the dates would retogress and I am coming up short with the exact answer. I'm just wondering, does the government retrogress the PD's because when they were current there were a lot of applicants applying to adjust status? With that problem the government is forced to retogress dates before more apply and it would just be at a stand still? Basically, they cannot work fast enough so they have to stop the movement and try to catch up.

Is anyone able to tell my why the dates moved back instead of forward?

It will go back of course, but when-, we can't tell for sure. What really makes me sooo upset is it doesn't seem to matter if you already had paid the bills and did all the paperworks!! they should at least considered that fact, in any case, this retogression is very disheartening to a lot of people. Don't lose hope my friend, hopefully the US Lawmakers WILL realized the fact that family reunification one of the most important thing that they should consider, it's unfair for us to wait 15- 20 years, utilizing the legal process, just to be push back because some politicians decided that illegals deserve more respect.

leave illegals out of this. and they are on the same boat as all of you. and you do knwo that once they are done illegals they are coming after you? do you really think tancredo really cares about you? no. he even thinks that osama might be among you. thos epoliticans will point to retro and say is unfair to have amnesty. but very few will actually want to give more visas, etc.

as for retro. the forum has its own section on the issue. welcome to stage two. once the pettion is approved, some people have to wait a decade just to put in an i-485. hope this bulletin puts a fire on any action congress wil make.

i totally agree with you philchic. i think we are in the same boat. Supposedly, we are expecting that our PD will be current before the year end.( PD-1996, F2b ) And we have all the paperworks accomplished and paid the necessary fees mid last year. We only just waiting for our medical and interview. Now this happened. And all our documents like birth cert, clearances etc. have expired!
I don't know where are we going with this scenario. It's really disappointing. And i really really hope that the US immigration can do something about the family based category. Since we are faithfully following the immigration rules in a legal way.

I'm hoping for some miracles in here.
