Darkhorse and ValidGTU calm down man calm down!!! I don't want this forus to be the issue of race and nationality any further. Just try posting a creative thread man.
Darkhorse, relax!! I know you created this thread, so it seems like this is your place. When someone comes in from nowhere and asks something you don't like, you feel angry and write a strong negative response to him. Do you think it is good manner for the person planning to live permanently in the U.S? It is the land we are not familiar with and still have more to learn to cope with the people there. What if something you don't know and you ask someone there nicely. Then you get the aggressive feedback back with discrimination. How would you feel????
I used to live there almost 6 years. Still, there is lots of things to learn with people and cultures. I can tell from the look. People there, if they don't know you in person, usually looks down on others trying to imigrate to their country. Yes, they don't say the word, but the way they act and they way they do are different from the way they treat others living in the same country.
You might disagree with me but it is my experience for the past 6 years. Yet, I still want to live there because it has a lot of things I can't find it in my country even though the economy is still in a bad shape now. So!!! Be warn, you will get this feeling when you live there.
From the message he wrote, I don't think it's offensive to you at all. He just wrote what he didn't know. This is a public forum. It belongs to anyone who wants to learn the things they want to know from others' opinions rather than searching on Google alone. That is the purpose of this forum. Is that right? I don't know how long you been doing research on DV and follow this forum. For me, not long. Back there before I joined this forum, I was a newbie. I got no clue and didn't know anything besides having a white envelope and knowing I am among DV2009 selectees. This place has been such a paradise for me. I gain lots of knowledge from people sharing things here. Indeed, I feel so much appreciate on anyone sharing such knowledgable threads.
At last, I would say we are the boss before we speak out. Don't let your word control you. Open up your mind a bit and just let something you don't like go. Let it be and your life will be much happy from now and in the future wherever you go.
ValidGTU, what darkhorse said about the huge gap is correct. I don't have any reference but I learn this from here. It is somewhere in the old thread, so maybe you can use the search icon to find more info. This year for DV2009, the CN is very high up to 44,000 for Asia (as I heard). CN is given to any applicant winning the DV. The actual number of Asia winner this year as posted is 14,000 something (can't remember the exact number) but the CN is up to 44,000. That is the reason people say there are lots of gap in arranging the number but I can't tell you how. That is the thing I know so far. My CN is 19xxx and will have an interview on May. You can see it is more than 14,000 as stated in DV website.
Anyway, just don't feel offensed and stop posting creative thread. You can do more research in search icon but if you can't find any good info, there are lots of people here want to share things they know. I hope you win the DV this year. Good luck
