hello, i am not sure if i am posting this message at the appropriate forum, but i have a friend who sought assistance to obtain work permit in the united states, but she is in doubt if this company is certified.

the firm does not seem to answer her questions clearly and we would like to know if it's possible to do a background check on this immigration assistance firm (whether they are licensed or approved by the u.s. government).

your reply will be appreciated.

sir, thanks for your reply. the thing is... my friend already gave a downpayment of $1500.

the person from the firm said that my friend should pay the remaining $3500 so he can send the petitions to immigration before the law changes.

it is stated on the website, that the founder is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and that, he is backed by a team of Immigration Lawyers.

i have the company's website address but would prefer not mentioning it here for our protection.

my friend is in a great dilemma of whether she should give the remaining $3500.

any input you may have will be highly appreciated

the visa my friend wants to get is H1. she is a full-time travel agent here. likewise, i am not aware what significant law is changing.

i tried to look for the person's name in AILA website, but couldn't find the search page.

so does this mean, she has no way of getting her $1500 downpayment back?

really appreciate your input sir..
