Hi everybody,
I am currently enrolled at a CSU. As an undergraduate exchange student I am suppossed to be enrolled in 12 Units in order to maintain my status.
Last semester I failed every exam due to a difficult personal situation. As a result I am on probation for this term. I am enrolled in 15 units. One of my professors , however, dropped me and now I got only 11 Units left.
The shool decided to kick me out of the program, which results in a violation of my status. My Visa is valid until may. I really would like to stay until May and now I am afraid that I have to leave within the next few days/weeks.
My questions are:
What are my rights? What can I do in order to get my J1 Status back?
If I won´t be able to get it back, which consequences do I have to fear if I stay less than 180 days?
Will there be any problems on re-entering the US if I stay less than 180days?
Could I technically depart voluntarily and come back as a tourist?
I would be very glad to receive some answers..I am reeealy scared guys..
Thanks a lot
