My information is as below. We(myself & wife) have not yet recieved FP notice. Any thoughts on what could be making it take so long. Is there any step I should take at this point or just sit, wait and watch. Thanks

Even I have not recieved my FP. my filing dates are in Oct'02.
I spoke to my lawyer, he said it can take anywhere from 3 to 18 months to get FP notice. And it depends on your location.

I am in PA, where are you located?

I am in Norwalk - CT.

I fail to understand the logic on how INS works on each case. I am assuming that, once they recieve the papers from us, they distribute it among departments which take care of each section within a Service Center.
In such a case or in any case wouldn't they be working on a first come first serve basis, except when there are exceptions... like fees not included... or something else?

Can you think of anything in your case that might cause a delay... just b'coz the INS has to verify or dig back into our H1 files or so?

Anything, like Name, DOB, Place... etc?

I am not sure how it works and I feel it is based on location where you live and load on the local INS near you. You must be aware that INS is totally unpredictable.

It is not first come first served basis for FP.

Keeping my finger crossed.

Hang in there!

Rawager,

INS goes by notice date and October must have been a heavy volume month. Since your notice date is in October, it might be taking long.

My notice date is Feb 02 and the FP took about 4 months.

Cheers.

Thanks Tamizh,

Hopefully it will come and that way I will "feel" my paperwork is moving... otherwise only God knows what goes on there...

In a way, the more delay in FP the better... I wont have to do it again in future... There is no way the AOS will be completed within a year... (Just looking at the bright side... he...he.. he..)

its Not based on ND

I am not sure but some people having ND is Nov. and Dec. have got their FP done !!!

How could they have their FP done when we still have not got even the notice!!!

I know it is wrong to expect "logic" in what INS does but atleast logic based on ND is not correct.
