Veterans PLEASE help me - URGENT !

Here is my scenario:
    
   1 H1 is valid
   2 Travelled on AP (I-485 ND: June\'2000)
   3 EAD expires on this Sunday
   4 Applied for EAD in March\'2001 and got RFE "Why file so early".
      Lawyer replied but not approved yet.

Can I continue to work on my H1? Any other suggestion is appreciated.

I do not think so. Use of anyone (AP or EAD), invalidates H1 status. Hence, getting back to H1B is quite troublesome like going back to home country, getting H1B stamped etc.
Advice, keep working but do not take salary until new EAD is approved/renewed.

I think you can go to local INS and request for EAD renewal by showing your receipt notice. You may check with your attorney.
