I guess I'm the only person here who hasn't filed his/her 2007 application. The fact is I have not even mailed my first package yet, because I have no clue what's going on with the DV numbers, except to occasionally PM one or two members on this forum.

Believe it or not I spent several hours today trying to read all the AOS threads to get very basic info on how to proceed with my AOS, but I got totally confused in the end. I called KCC to clarify some info, but they said I should carry my entire package to my local office and they would tell me how to proceed from there. I drove quickly to LA local office, but they wouldn't attend to me unless I make an appointment for for next week wednesday. I really can't wait for that long.

I'm very ignorant with these things and I'm totally confused right now as I'm typing, but I know several of you can can help with some very basic information to complete my first package which I intend to mail by the end of tomorrow.

1. My number became current this month, and I still have my first package (DSP 122 and DS 230 I and II). Which of them should I fill and return for AOS and where should I return them.

2. Are there any supplemental forms to fill out. If so where do I get them.

3. How do I pay the fee? Should I write a check and mail it as well? Should I pay it electronically and attach a receipt. If I should write a check, to whom should it be payable to?

4. For my medicals and FP, should I just go to any USCIS-approved doctor now and do it and send them the results, or they should rather notify me first.

5. Do I really need to go to my local office before starting anything?

6. Should I also mail all my original documents to them, or I should make copies?

7. Is there anything else I'm missing in my application package?

I know I'm very late with this and the road ahead is uncertain, but I really want to get these info and put everything together and mail them by the end of tomorrow. I have all my documents already and that should be no problem. I'm a recent college graduate on F-1 visa and just started my OPT.

Thank you all in advance.

these are not forms for AOS. You will need to fill DSP-122 and send it to Pittsburgh address (indicated in your first package) with DV fee (check or money order). You will need to indicated that you are doing AOS. Kind of late to do AOS, by the way...

2. Are there any supplemental forms to fill out. If so where do I get them.
AOS forms You don't need form I-765 at this time - too late anyway. If you file AOS before July 30, you can pay the old fees. If you file after - new ones ($1,010). I am not sure if DV winners need to file I-130 or DS-230 with AOS, so you'll have to ask around.

3. How do I pay the fee? Should I write a check and mail it as well? Should I pay it electronically and attach a receipt. If I should write a check, to whom should it be payable to?
write a check. INstructions are in the forms (I-485).

4. For my medicals and FP, should I just go to any USCIS-approved doctor now and do it and send them the results, or they should rather notify me first.
the doctor will give you the results in a sealed envelope, and you have to enclose them with your AOS package.

5. Do I really need to go to my local office before starting anything?
no
6. Should I also mail all my original documents to them, or I should make copies?
You NEVER send any original documents to USCIS.
7. Is there anything else I'm missing in my application package?
yes. It's called "research". You had more than a year to research this, and you didn't do anything.

Fill both of them and send them to KCC at the address that you have in the notification letter

Read here http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=251543 --4th page, 2nd message what papers you should send to USCIS. You can download the forms from the USCIS web-page

Write a check and send it to USCIS, you'll receive a receipt, keep it for the interview
4. For my medicals and FP, should I just go to any USCIS-approved doctor now and do it and send them the results, or they should rather notify me first.
For medicals, contact a USCIS doctor by yourself and ask him/her for the USCIS medical exam. For FP you need USCIS to tell you when and where to do this
5. Do I really need to go to my local office before starting anything?
I'll say NO, because you have all the information that you need on this forum, just take time and read these 2 subjects http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=251543 and http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=220636 But if you still feel confused, make an infopass and speak with an immigration officer. How to make an infopass, read here https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php

LucyMo is right, I don't understand how some people can be so ignorant with something so important :(

I hate to sound harsh, but I can't believe you've done nothing since I responded to your PM a month ago. You will need to really hurry to get everything in on time now.

Others have already responded very well to your questions, but I want to emphasize one thing. There are two sets of fees you will need to pay, the DV fee (mailing directions were included in your notification letter, best paid by money order) and the AOS fees (paid to USCIS, payable by personal check drawn on a US bank). You must have the DV fee receipt at your interview, so pay that immediately. Please note that you will not be refunded any of these fees, should your application be denied or should you fail to meet the deadline.

Good luck but you're really pushing the limits of realistic processing times. Don't lose hope but also prepare yourself for disappointment. Your timing is so tight that you can't afford to have anything go wrong. Once the application is submitted, you must be vigilant and make sure that processing doesn't hit any blocks.
