Dear All

I am U.S citizen and we have applied for a green card for my wife in March (she is currently on an H1B) and she got her advanced parole document/EAD card a few weeks later (They are now one combined document). She is scheduled to travel back to her home country, along with our 2 year old son, on June 29th (Next Wednesday) and she plans to stay there for a month, but her purse got stolen yesterday with credit cards, driver's license, pretty much everything including her AP/EAD document. Now we don't know what to do!
* Can she travel anyway?
* Is there anyway to have the AP/EAD replaced fast?

As it happens her Interview is scheduled for tomorrow June 27th at the Atlanta field office. What should we tell them? Is there anything they can do for us?

If she is on a valid H1 status and has a valid visa, she can travel abroad and return to US with the visa. If not, she cannot.

The AP/EAD should be locked up in a safe place, only taken out when needed for specific occasions such as international travel or when it needs to be shown to an employer or government office.

But anyway now that it's gone it's too late for that ... she can leave without the AP if her H1B is still valid (unexpired and she's also working for the same employer). To reenter the US, she would need an H1B visa stamp* in her passport, so if she doesn't already have one she'll need to set up an appointment with the US consulate in her country to get her passport stamped. And she must return to the same H1B employer.

*unless she's Canadian, in which case they'll accept the H1B approval notice in lieu of a visa stamp.

Couldn't she get a I-551 stamp in her passport if approved at the interview and use it for traveling?

Her I-485 is not approved.How she can get I-551 stamp in her passport??

We do not know if it is approved or not because Skander H hasn't posted since. He mentioned that the interview was on june 27th. In that case, IF it was approved and IF she was notified of the decision the same day then there shouldn't be a problem to get a stamp given her situation. But again, we don't know what happened at the interview. Hope she got approved otherwise she is stuck and can't travel until gets her documents replaced.

her Interview is scheduled for tomorrow June 27th

Please correct me if I misunderstood the situation, I assumed it was the AOS interview.

if her Interview on June 27 at Atlanta office was for AOS and she was Approved then she could have got the Stamp in passport and could have traveled on June 29. FYI Local office stopped stamping passport 2-3 years back if Interview conducted at local USCIS office and approved. USCIS officer takes signature and Fingerprint on white Form and they send it to Card production unit(service center). If the lady passed interview and informed officer that She want to travel on 29 then the officer can stamp the passport. Only the OP knows the full details of case.
