i765 is eligible for premium processing, but uscis has not decided when to begin and end the premium processing.

So I dont have any choice other than not working till i get the ead. If I dont work, am I still maintaiing my legal status ? reason Im asking is shouldnt I be employed all the time till I get my gc?

should i go for efiling or paper filing. How long does it take for the uscis to send the appointment for biometric. Or should I call them to make an appointment.

As long as your 485 is still pending, you can stay in US without having EAD but you cannot work without EAD. If I were you, I would go with paper filing. Paper filing does not require finger printing where as efiling requires finger printing. Only advantage with efiling is, you get the receipt number immediately where as it may take up to 2 weeks to get a receipt number for paper filed EAD.

I had gone thru same situation as you. My current EAD expiring on Oct 30th and i did apply on Sept 29th.I did not receive the receipt notice even though after 2.5 weeks. I called customer service and requested. Within 2 days they have sent the receipt notice and notice date as October 13th. I last 2 weeks there. Then next week i faxed them Expedition letter and as well as mailed. I took an infopass appointment at Detroit office and they did not issue the interim EAD . I pleaded them to expedite and told me that will call NSC and let them know. Meanwhile i called Nebraska service center and i told them i have sent Expedite ltter and gave the valid reason to accept my expedition request. It some how worked and my EAD approved y'day. My expired EAd date is October 30. I have gap of 4 days and i requested them to consider effective date as October 31st. I hope i will see that date on my EAD card.It will help guys like your situation and what all you can do in this situation.

1. Can you give us the what is the valid reason that they accepted
2. Can you provide the FAX Number

Hi,
Fax # 402-219-6171/6170/6344 . the phone number is same as Customer service but when you check your status upon entring LIN# and wait listen message about companion cases and press that button. I dont exactly remember some thing like 3 & 4.
Jay, i will send the document i have sent or will post it here later on.I dont have a soft copy now.In my case i have a valid Medical reason.

I got the receipt # as LIN07xxxxxxxx Is that good? I thought it should be LIN06xxxxx as it was delivered on this year nov.

any idea why im getting lin07xxxx ?

They don't follow the Calander year, their year starts on October and ends on September, that is you got the o7 in the receipt number

My EAD is expiring tomorrow. My receipt date was Sept 20 (paper application). I called customer service, they are saying I will get a FP notice within 60 days (don't understand why). Probaly they don't know.

Anyway, I want to send a expedition letter to them by Fax. My service center was NSC. Jayjo07 or HariruPtra or anybody else please send me a draft for the expidition letter by email (sn_kundu@yahoo.co). You already posted the Fax no. I don't know what reason to show then. I just forgot.

I faxed the following letter along with my family member medical condition as the reason. If you have any valid reason you can add to this letter otherwise elaborate Tremination of the Job as the Main reason and you need to put some valid reason for delaying your application...
