Hi Friends,
I am very upset and angry these days ,my labor already took more than a year (the employer applied very late) then i was happy to know the concurrent filing rule but no use my labour is already cleared for more than 50 days and my stupid employer and attorneys are too slow they haven't even asked me for 140 papers or draft yet ,they atleast take 3 rounds before they apply.
Also after pursuing them for a long time they sent 1st 485 draft but they have not given any advice on medicals or any other documents. what should i do

it is very agonising anad frustrating to go through this process and missout on these good times which i should enjoy with my family.
i feel very diappointed when i see others applying soon and i can't do anything about my stuff.
i can't complain too much because of fear of loosing job u know the economy right.
sorry for the troublr bbut i had to vent out and if you can suggest what i should prepare for 485 and medicals.

i feel helpless. I have seen so many people go thru agoony here but my employer and attorneys are extremely slow and dont seem to care as they are not immigrants like us

Should give you a very good heads up. The information is pretty generic and will explain the process in some detail.

Regarding your company not making too much of an effort to file I140 or 485, is probably because they are a little worried about meeting the pre-requisites that INS requires of employers. Or afraid of RFE's or not interested in spending the $$$ for the process. I suggest that if you have a good rapport with your immideate supervisor, tactically ask him what the problem is, and if there is none, explain the situation to him. Most people are understanding and he should be able to help you.

Currently I-140's are blazing through INS and so it is good to make hay while the sun shines. Also, it will give you more time to get into the AC21 portability rule wrt your 485.

If nothing seems to be moving, you might still want to get started on your medicals since you have to pay for them yourself, and it is valid for 6 months or so. That way even if things are taking time, you atleast have your ground work complete and when the ball starts rolling, you are that much ahead!

Good luck!

GCdifficult -- don't worry!

Search for the word --Medical Examination in this discussion board. The information provided by the members were very helpful for me to go ahead with the 485 procedure. I have gone through the similar experiences like you. Those guys should be delaying because of financial problems/Lethargic attitude. So, tell them that you're ready to spend on your own and get the papers from them (LC Approval), hire your own attorney, start the remaining stages of the process..... It may cost you few thousands but you can be peaceful. Talk nicely to them and get the process under your control.
All the Best!

take it easy...

I too have the much worse experience, my initial process to start LC was filed over a year late than original planned, then after every step, there is always couple of month delay for the next filing. The process for small people like you and me in the big company + big law firm has never been in the normal speed, needless to say fast. There is not much we can do, thinking about friends with other companies started GC process at the same time already got theirs one or two years ago can only makes me feel real bad. Life is never fair, the only thing we can do is adjust our attitude, sit back and relax, our turn will come eventually, just hold on there.

GCDifficult...

Relax, take it slow. Hire your own attorney. Atleast you will have to deal only with lethargy of the company then. Also remember that there are lots of people in your shoes... including me. Little can we do about it. Again no matter where you are episodes like this is frequent. Price we all pay to get the final freedom.

You should find all the form that you require here. If I were you I will not do the medical before 140 is approved. You definitely go-ahead and schedule an appointment but wait till you hear about the approval. It only takes about a weeks time to get the results.. its the appointment that normally takes longer.
