Validity period of employment-based greencards

I am still far far far away from that 'dream-come-true' moment (RD Feb/02), but was just curious to get feedback from those who received green cards recently.

How long these EB-based green cards are valid? Five years? Ten years? I know that marriage-based green cards are initially issued for a 3-year period.

what happens when someone chnages profession in these 10 yrs?

what might happen if some one changes profession from computers to medicine after getting green card? can it affect later? Just out of curiosity?

You can do whatever only if after certain period of time (e.g. 6 month after GC approved).
 
Based on what compaqdb is saying, and I heard that from other people as well, unfortunately I have to postpone accepting that lucrative career change offer from Chip-n-Dales a little while longer.
