Validity of the passport stamp outside USA

Hi guys,
There are a number of countries (like Canada, Switzerland, Singapore etc.) which allow people with
US green card to enter their country without a VISA. Does this apply even if the plastic card has not been
received, and only evidence of green card is the stamp on the passport? Has anybody tried that recently,
especially in Singapore?
