Validity of FPs and medicals ??

Hi All,

I filed my 485 in Oct 2001, for which the medicals were done in sept 2001 and FPs were done in April 2002. I got a rfe for EVL, paystubs, W2 in Nov 2002 and replied back in Dec 02.

My question is how long are FPs and Medicals valid ?
 
Medical valid all times

My lawyer told me that Medical test that is valid at the time of 485 filing is valid forever ..

But, FP are valid for only 14 months ..

I asked my attorney about this and according to him FP is valid for 15 months. Regarding the medical test, it need to be taken only once at the time of application.

* Medicals won't expire after filing (but one need to file for AOS with in a year after doing medicals though!)
* FPs are valid for only 15 months (but clock start from the day FBI cleared FPs -not from the day one did FP!)

One can find out that date through AVM after doing FPs (before any RFE etc.).

For e.g. in my case: I did FPs on 01/04 and AVM says (use to say..) the following...

"On January 17, 2002, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made."

That means FBI cleared my FPs on 01/17. Or else once can call IIO to get this info...

i think some one posted the FBI number and you can call them and find out with your alien number to verify that they had processed your FPs. They wo't tell u the result but will tell u that they did there part and had send the resultss back to INS.
