Validity dates on H1 approval notice are not desired

My last company's H1 was valid till June15th 2005.
New company filed my H1 and I have the receipt date of June3rd.
Based on that receipt I started working for new company from June9th.
Yesterday H1 approval notice came from California service center which shows that My new H1 validity dates are from July 14th to Sep 2006.
I do not have a clue that why they did not make it valid from where last H1 ends.
I fear that this may be seen as being out of status for the gap [June16th to July12]
My I-140 and 485 is also filed with new employer and is in process.

Was I out of status for this period ??

Any insight or advice will be appreciated??

Also, they did not attache the new I-94 with the H1 approval notice

DO you think they stopped doing that ?? because right now my old I-94 expired with the dates of old visa on June16th....and in new approval notice, they did not send any :(

You are not out of status as your transfer H1 petition was filed and acknowledged before your old visa expiry. The date difference you need not worry at all

If you didi not get your I 94 at the bottom of H1 approval notice, this is something serious.
Either your atttorney did not mark correct check box or INS forget to send one. In both the cases your attorney has to act quickly to resolve this problem immediately by talking /Writing to INS
