I have an H1B approval to work for a software company in the US. My interview appointment with the US consulate is next Nov. 8. The H1B sponsoring company in the US said they will try to place me in a project after I get the visa stamp. However, this might take a few months. In the meantime, I am working for a software develpment company in a offshore project in Brazil.

Let's say that my current boss wants me to travel to the US, and requests that I file a B1 business visa on my passport. Here are my questions:

1) Will I be able to have valid H1B and B1 visas on my passport?

2) Will the consulate cancel my H1B once they learn that I am working for another company in Brazil and not for the one on the H1B visa?

3) Can the immigration officer in the US cancel my H1B when I tell him/her that I am entering the US under the B1 and *not* the H1B?

1 if you have B1 /b2 visa then visit US before getting H1 visa stamp.
2 if H1 stamp on passport and you try to get B1 then US consulate will cancell H1 visa stamp.
3 one cant have B1 and H1 stamp in passport, one can have only one valid stamp in passport.
4 if you get H1 stamp and enter US on H1 stamp then US employer need to pay you the wages as on LCA
5 if you have H1 Petition approved but no H1 visa stamped you CAN work out of US. H1 petition approval does not mean that you need to come to US, it is up to you to take the US job or not
