It\'s getting too long so let\'s talk here.

What immigration related papers do I need to bring with me besides my RTD with the visa on it? Do I need to surrender my I-94 when I exit the US? What papers are good to bring but not necessary? I appreciate your opinion.

RTD ONLY

Tim:
All you need is your RTD. You don\'t need to surrender the I-94 or even bring it with you. They give you a new one when you re-enter the country every single time. The validity will be indefinite or one year only depending on your POE. INS is very inconsistent. None of that matters anyway because your status remains the same. Over the years, I\'ve piled up quite a few I-94\'s while waiting for GC. Still have them as souvenirs. This is my experience as far as dates on I-94\'s: Washington_Dulles airport(Indefinite), Toronto and Montreal Pre-Flight inspection(one year), LAX(no I-94 at all, admitted as GC Holder even though I was not at the time).

on which document, Tim

Tim, did you use the RTD or the passport at the Italian consulate?

Enjoy your trip.
