V visa - is it possible to apply?

Hi,

According to my understanding of the law, only those GC holders who filed I-130 on or before December 21, 2000 can apply for V-visa for their relatives (9 FAM 41.86).

Yet when I went to an immigration lawyer for a consultation regarding various immigration options, she told me that I can apply for V-visa for my spouse.

If you happen to know the truth about V-visa please share it in this thread.

that's correct.
