My lawyer and myself have been sending forms back and forth trying to get everything in order. This is where I need suggestions -
My company is in a very pathetic stage. Anything can happen anytime by the end of the year (hopefully we stay that long !!!!) My lawyer says that since I am on a H1, EAD is not necessary for me. But what happens if I get laidoff in the next 3 months. Can I start working anywhere? Which one is better - EAD or H1?
 
Get an EAD first, incase you laid off by current employer, still

you can find a job with your EAD. It costs you $95 but it\'s worth it.

Definitely apply for EAD -- I will recommend applying for Advance Parole too (travel Doc) in case of emergency.. As soon as you use EAD to work, you are not eligible to enter US on H-1 legally... Some argues showing precedences of entering H-1B... But that is shear luck.. Do not count on that.. I would recommend applying for both if you feel that you may need to go abroad... Good Luck...

Do not waste your time.. File as soon as you can...
