Using H1 and 485 receipt notice to enter

I am planning to use my original H1 and 485 receipt notice to enter Newark , H4 annd 485 receipt notice for my spouse. Any experience please?. Do they stamp on the passport/I94 to indicate that I am an AOS applicant? How do they distingiuish between an H1 entree to an Adjustment Status Entree.How do I make sure to indicate to INS, that I showed my 485 receipt notice to Immigration officer when I entered? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

It does not matter . If you have a valid H1 , your pending 485
does not matter . No one cares at the airport INS cares for your
485 . However if you do not have a valid H1 you must
have Advance Parole. If you have both you have a choice of using
AP or H1 .

Hi 485hopeful,
            Can we travel on valid H1 without 485 receipt. I need to travel to India last week of Oct. I applied for 485 in the last week of Sep., and it seems like it will take 6-8 weeks for the receipt to come.

The reason I asked this question was that, it was mentioned by my lawyer and as well as in other sites, that if I do not show
the 485 receipt it means I have abandoned the AOS. How do I make sure that I have a proof that the immigration officer has seen
my 485 receipt?
